Sri Lanka was off to a dream start like usual and slumped to a smaller total again. Dilshan and Jayasuriya did all the scoring and after 81 for no loss they finished at just 150/7. Some tight bowling or dismal batting in the middle overs brought down the target for their opponents.

Pakistan had a gettable target, but they got into trouble right away and made it into a challenging target and slowly into an invincible one! They ground themselves to dust, helped by Malinga and Murali of course.
