Scorecard:
Bangladesh: 137 for 8 (20 overs)
(Mashrafe Mortaza 33 off 16 balls, Johnston 3 for 20)
Ireland 138 for 4 (18.2 overs)
(NJ O’Brien 40 off 25 balls, KJ O’Brien 39* off 17 balls, Mortaza 2 for 30)
Bangladesh started fine and drummed up 40 runs in about 5 overs with the loss of one wicket. However Johnston struck thrice in 3 overs and removed the main batting line up. After that it was a struggle by the remaining batsmen to stay afloat.
Ireland paced their innings well. Even though, they too lost wickets at interval, the score was not big enough to overwhelm them. And once the O’Brein brothers decided to open up their blade, everything was a slice. Ireland crossed the line with 6 wickets intact.
