Scorecard:
Sri Lanka: 195 for 3 (20 overs)
(Jayawardene 98 off 56 balls, Sankgarra 68 off 49 balls, Roach 2 for 27)
West Indies: 138 for 8 (20 overs)
(Sarwan 28 off 33 balls, Bravo 23 off 23 balls, Mendis 3 for 24, Malinga 3 for 28)
Jayawardene setup a huge task for the West Indians. Alongwith, Sangkarra he had a blazing feast going on by exhaling 166 runs in 16.3 overs. Australia had used up 4 batsmen to do the same task against India. Thereafter, it was easy for West Indies to capitulate. However, Mendis and Malinga made it very easy for them by combining to squeeze the run rate and getting wickets in return. With Murali back, probably the West Indian batsmen turned all their attention on him and missed marking the 2 freshmen. The J of Batting and M of Bowling is the key to Sri Lanka.

What do you do if the opposition rattles up 100 runs within 10 overs without losing a wicket? Well, if your caught without an umbrella you might as well soak the pleasure. It was an onslaught their mother’s couldn’t bear to watch, but they sat on to see their son’s bat much later. Although most of them missed that too as the Indian IPL stars got in and out even within the duration of an Ad (TV Commercial). Warner whoes virtues were extolled at our sister site www.onedayers.com even when he’d just played his first match went after Ravinder Jadeja like a dog goes after a cow - yap yap yap yap. The cow jumps up so much that the owner runs away. Well, even Ravinder was abandoned by his skipper like a mistress’ child. He did not get to bowl even long after Warner was gone!
Well India had so many IPL stars that any target seemed gettable. Sure get they did, I mean the bowlers got their goatee right away. Nannes spilled the beans on IP< teammate Gambhir right away. Only Rohit Sharma stood there maybe because his IPL stint wasn’t so noticeable. Rohit did bat as well as Warner to be fair. However, Rohit had no partners to share his optimism with.
