2 retired Englishmen, a certain Mr. Duckworth and Mr. Tony Lewis got to the top of the hate list of the englishmen even if for a moment. Never has an Englishman been cursed 4 times in 2 days !! It made a mundane cricket match look like an exciting chess game!!
Just for the uninitiated, 2 retired men worked out an equation which lets us predict how the match would’ve played out, if it was not interrupted. Ouch! You used to tell your child what is right and he had no option but to accept it. Well you can abuse(?) no child anymore. Everything’s gonna be decided by fairness. Your child would ask you the probability of him losing his life, when you stop him from crossing the road looking askance at you. Get ready to compile some stats. Well, I suppose we can expect it from the DL Stable I hope? Are you listening, Mr. Duckworth. Mr Tony Lewis, are you around?
Long ago Mr. Duckworth was doing statistics in the field of Nuclear Science before turning towards the more profitable cricket. My God! And I really used to believe that Nuclear Energy was safe. I have read every statistic on that, didn’t I? So why do I feel insecure now?
Just a second, does England have a Nuclear Bomb? And what is the probability of it going off on it’s own? Am I being cynical – bet my life! Yes, I really mean it, they’ve bet my life!!!!
