Pakistan began on a very strong note with a 12 ball cameo by Kamran Akmal, they settled into a steady rhythm and soon saw themselves at 95 for 2 in 12 overs. With Shahid Afridi just having completed his half-century and the stage set for the final assault. Then something snapped and they dragged on slowly while saving their wickets (for the final perhaps?) they ended with unused ammunition and a low score.

South Africa began very strongly and were soon 40 without loss. But they suddenly slid to 50 for 3 with Shahid Afridi doing the damage. Would King Kallis rise to the occasion once more? Well Kallis and Duminy did play out of their skins but ended short strikingly similar to India.
