Scorecard:
Ireland: 112 for 8 (18 overs)
(White 29 off 25 balls, Wilson 29 off 23 balls, Mooney 29 off 23 balls, Zaheer 4 for 19, Ojha 2 for 18)
India 113 for 2 (15.3 overs)
(Rohit Sharma 52* off 45 balls, Gautam Gambhir 37 off 31 balls, West 1 for 23, McCallan 1 for 28)
Ireland lost 3 wickets early and then could not recover. Zaheer Khan struck these blows during what turned out to be a dream spell. A late barge by White got them through the Hundred mark.
Though this was going to be easy meat, India did not relent and lower their guard. Gambhir and Rohit Sharma notched up a 77 run partnership which saw the leisurely coasting long at just around 7 runs per over. India easily finished off the match with 15 balls to spare.

Scorecard:
Sri Lanka: 192 for 5 (20 overs)
(Jayasuriya 81 off 47 balls, Dilshan 74 off 47 balls, Simmons 4 for 19)
West Indies 177 for 5 (20 overs)
(Bravo 51 off 38 balls, Simmons 29 off 19 balls, Mendis 2 for 25, Muralitharan 1 for 21)
Sri Lanka started very well and put up 124 on board in just over 12 overs without losing any wicket. A 225 kind of score looked in the offing. But Simmons stepped in with a 4 wicket haul and could restrict Sri Lanka team under 200. The highlight of the innings of course was the opening partnership and Jayasuriya’s domination.
West Indies, started equally fast putting up their 50 even before the 5 over was finished. They seemed to be right on course. Here was when Mendis and Muralitharan stepped in and took 3 wickets within a space of 8 balls. There was no fight left in the Windies. Even though Bravo’s late surge kindled a hope they were about 2 overs behind and finished at least one over behind.
